Yona’s great, i love the confirmation that there are other Zora domains out there (as there should be, Hyrule is one kingdom, the entire Zora population isn’t gonna be centralised there - the genetic diversity would be horrendous)

Would your Yona also have feelings for Link? Or perhaps she sees him as a good friend? Would Sidon get jealous seeing Link ride HER in the water lol
Hmm, so I've been hesitant to answer this, but I kind of want to! I'll just say that what I'm GOING to say isn't canon for Secret Confessions when it comes to Link, but this is how I like to write her character, and to make full sense of it, I'll just say how I imagine both Yona's relationships w/ Sidon and Link here...
Yona I imagine was a childhood friend of Sidon, who met him through her family member, Muzu. As she's from the same domain Muzu/Dorephan was from originaly before Dorephan married Sidon/Mipha's mother and moved into the Hyrule Zora's Domain. Yona was there to comfort Sidon after he lost Mipha, as the two both mourned her and leaned on each other. Though, the two spent less time together as Sidon grew older, so their romantic feelings didn't grow until after their arranged marriage.
I HC Yona to be like demiromantic + asexual, so I view Yona and Sidon's romance differently than Sidon and Link's. Yona loves Sidon as her husband. Her love for him is strong, and she feels so safe in his arms and by his side. She didn't have romantic feelings for him when they were first arranged, but he's just so charismatic and lovable, and quite honestly funny. In a way Yona didn't get to see much when he was younger. She can't get over how much heart he's grown to have, but still manage to be the most lovable ditz in her life. She worried at first with the marriage that it would be nothing more than a political one, especially as she grew very aware of Sidon's blatant attraction for his dearest friend, but she quickly realized how big his heart was. That she also had a place in it. Sidon fell in love with Yona's comfort, her genuine care, and the way she's able to speak so heartfelt with such ease and consideration. She's the smartest person he knows, and he's so happy that she's the Zora Queen. He also loves how cuddly she is, and that when the two are alone, it's spent in each others arms. She's so comforting.
After Link joins the picture, Yona is more than happy to see Sidon's heart full. That, and she most definitely can enjoy breaks from her husband, and even though she enjoys his cuddles and endless compliments, she also enjoys her alone time. She also feels glad that Sidon has someone that... loves him in a way she doesn't. She's never felt pressured by Sidon to be intimate. Even with him always explaining his love for her isn't defined by intimacy, she's found herself guilty for not loving Sidon in that way. The first time she spots a Zora bite on Link, she's overwhelmed with laughter. She's happy, and Link clearly is too, as he isn't trying to hide it at all. Yona feels a weight of sort off her shoulders from this... so thankfully Link had a mark on his LMAO.
When it comes to sleeping arrangements, if Link is there that night, the three share a bed in Sidon and Yona's quarters that is big enough for the three. Where Link and Yona sandwich Sidon between them, and the three cuddle the night away. Yona, at first, is cautious about sticking to her side of the bed. She wants to avoid Link, not because she dislikes him, but she knows he loves Sidon, not her. She doesn't mind sticking to her side of the bed, but one morning when she wakes up to Link cuddling her and Sidon snoring on the other side of Link, she's overwhelmed. Though, she strangely feels comforted, and she quite enjoys it, which only causes her alarm and she gently unwraps Link around her. This happens a few times, and Yona feels a bit confused at the experiences. She doesn't DISLIKE them, but she also feels a bit guilty when she admits she is finding Link quite comforting in the way she finds Sidon.
Yona finds herself giggling more at Link's feral like behaviors. Finding herself blushing a bit when Link and Sidon swim around the reservoir. When she and Link talk alone, she feels a comfort that leaves her confused. She wants to know more, be around him more, but she knows that isn't what Link wants.
But again, one morning after she wakes up, she's met with Sidon on the other side of Link. Sidon is awake, and with Yona's movements, Link awakens, too. Yona expects Link to give his usual morning kiss to Sidon, but with Link used to Sidon being to his left, he, without opening his eyes, gives Yona a peck, leaving Sidon AND Yona both confused and speechless. Link opens his eyes to the sight, and immediately apologizes, turning redder than Sidon. Yona explains all is well, but her heart is racing, and she's overwhelmed because she LIKED the kiss, and with her guilt, she runs out.
Later that day, Link meets Yona alone, and he apologizes for the morning. Link noticed Yona hadn't returned from the reservoir, and knew this accidental kiss was something they wouldn't just forget about. When Link apologizes, Yona apologizes too, as she admits she liked it, and that she apologizes for falling for Link, too. Link is silent for what feels like a long time. But when he walks over to Yona and hugs her, she's surprised. Link admits he's grown his own love for Yona with their time spent together. It's different than his love for Sidon, but it's more than just as a friend. He does love her, and he's sorry for the kiss, but if she's okay with it, he'd like to make a proper kiss next time. To which Yona agrees, and the two kiss again.
Sidon of fucking course is overly excited at the news, as this presents so many more cuddling and date options. The three get along swimmingly, and well, Sidon wouldn't get jealous of Link swimming on Yona's back. He'd just be waiting impatiently for his turn LMAO.

Weapons
Dual Scimitars, Whisper and Mist (their item description below the image):
Tumblr media
During the first great war with the Hylians after their arrival from the deep ocean, a Zoran champion was outfitted with two weapons. These twin scimitars were forged from the teeth of an ancient water serpent, found only in the depths where light never reached. With these weapons, the Zoran champion was smoke on the water, defending their newfound home and leaving the fallen soldiers to drift downstream back to their king. As the war waged on, rumors spread among the Hylians, and although few ever saw the Zoran who wielded these weapons, one thing was clear - when the fog swept up from the waters, retreat was the only option. After peace was finally reached between the Zora and the Hylians, these two weapons, Mist and Whisper, were laid to rest at the bottom of the Zoran shrine, lying in wait for their next champion.
Each blade is an exquisitely crafted +1 magic weapon but, when a wielder attunes to the swords over a long rest, the swords bind to the soul of the person. This binding of both weapons unlocks their true potential, allowing the wielder to attune to them both as a single item. If they are used separately, their effects will not appear.
With the weapons in question, Mipha was the one who helped him in acquiring them from the shrine. He saw it as a great honor.
In depth look on dragon scion (from the site):
Commonly called a dragon knight or dragon warrior, a scion of this subclass draws its power from a draconic origin. This is usually consequence of absorbing the power of a slain dragon, or ritual worship of a draconic benefactor, but there are many other possibilities. In any case, a dragon scion embodies the ferocity and vitality of the beast it embodies. This is most apparent in a dragon scion's capability to temporarily transform parts of its body into those of a dragon, such as growing claws or functional wings. Much as a dragon breathes fire or spits beams of force, so too do a dragon scion's spells embody such visceral destruction. Dragon scions are infamous for their tenacity, as it seems their magical and physical prowess can tear through entire legions of lesser foes with little rest.
Akos, in particular, in his journey to attune with the weapons graciously given to him within the shrine, attacked dinraal like the very smart (he had 10 intelligence...) goldfish he is. Instead of the dragon laying waste to him, saw potential in him and blessed him with the ability to use (primarily) fire magic. The scion class allowed him to have a base resistance to an element permanently (fire in this case) and later in leveling gets dragon resilience. It more or less allows him to resist another element upon changing his form (I went with scale properties any time it was used) or he could be fully immune to fire. When immune to fire, what would be damage taken by the fire instead heals that amount (ie, if the attack roll did 15 fire damage, I would heal 15 hp. Lol)
To go with Akos' short fuse, dragon scions gain access to a dragon rage that more or less works like a barbarian rage.
And the last very important part of dragon scion, is with the ability to use magic in such a Proficient manner, he could use that magic to create functional wings and fly. (There were restrictions technically, but it was mostly the further I flew the more of my MP it took. But I hoarded green potions so it didn't matter)
Now, for the actual story part of this campaign:
The biggest thing to note is I joined this campaign while the rest of the group had already been isekai'd to Termina, on their 2nd or 3rd time reset (yes my dm was cruel enough to keep it). But the setting was originally in hyrule during links slumber. Its around 95 years before the events of BotW. From what I understand Nithril, made a very big fucky wucky, and that's where they ended up. Akos joins them when Aryll hauls ass into the domain, talking about a mysterious portal that showed up nearby. Like the determined little zora he is, investigates it, and ends up in clock town where he meets Nithril Izuna and Mabo. The whole story isn't really that important, we for the most part follow how the game is, going to the 4 regions to wake up the giants and stop the falling moon. Just with some cursed shit in between. My DM was really good at making our skin crawl. We eventually learn that because none of us actually had the ocarina of time, each time reset was more fucked up than the last. Some residents would remember the moon falling, some events would end in very weird ways, and some events would just crack reality. One of the big moments of "shit ain't right" was when we went to see the Zora's. We ended up there during a kind of "battle of the bands" situation, and while Mikau, lulu, ect, get on stage this is what our dm plays for us :) (it's a YT link. I plan to make a full comic out of this scenario, I swear. Our reactions were really fun lol)
Anyway, the other main point of giving us emotional damage was after waking all the giants, we are getting ready to face majora and are more or less sent to like. A zen garden? With a machine dude just called the stranger. He tasked us with burying ancient pieces, that eventually rose as "sentient" beings. we were then, told to keep peace between the civilizations. we failed, really hard. Akos tried to show peace between his and izunas creatures, while mabos and nithrils waged war on each other. It ended with the stranger crushing all of our creatures violently and asking us philosophical questions that none of us could really answer properly about whether or not we should even be saving Termina. It's where this cute little sketch came from though :p
Tumblr media
We fight majora, and win (barely. Akos got stomped on, literally.) And are met with goddess hylia who, as a reward, are given the option to go to wherever and whenever we want. Mabo goes on a new adventure, nithril goes back in time to undo the bullshit of the twilight realm, and izuna goes home, just 5 years before the events they are now facing. Akos returns home to the domain (izuna flies over the domain for 5 years. I failed my wisdom saving throws so akos got a headache lmfao) and that's how the campaign ended. We all cried LOL

The Yona Rant.
Some people will say that this game came out months ago already, and everybody is over it, and even kinda like her now, and to that I answer
First of all, I would like to remind you, reader, of the old texts. *blows into the sacred n64 oot cartridge*
The Zora royal line have proven itself to be very obviously Linksexual. If you haven’t played, Ruto proclaims herself Link’s fiancée, the spiritual stone of water being a litteral engagement ring. It is clearly brought into BOTW, with Mipha actively making him an engagement present according to current Zora tradition.
Sidenote: Link accept both gifts, and as the player you never get to clear it up or refuse. Make it what you will.
Why am I mentioning this?
She’s Link’s Zora-sona.
Tumblr media
(((If you want to bring gender into this, BORING. Link is canonically nonbinary. (neither male of female, able to be related to by anybody, those are things expressed multiple times by the creators))))
Everything about her that is different from the other Zoras is intended to be Link-like.
The way she has the droopy sleeves instead of the shoulderpads
The purple ribbon cutting into her silhouette in the same way the straps of his outfit do
The golden jewelry instead of Domain Silver
The horns simulating the spiky Hylian ears
Her head-tail is smaller and pointy, way closer to the shape of the classic hat
GREEN. A specific shade.
Babyfaced she-twink
She is the PEAK of Zora beauty standard, how silly of you to judge her with your human beauty standards. Yona is a bimbo, a barbie, everything hot under the sea. Literally evolved to be Link-like. She’s a trophy wife, a sex symbol, an idol. She has a dedicated Zora entourage simping for her.
Now, the way she suddenly shows up, without having being mentioned in BOTW… how do yall feel about surprises? I don’t think there would have been any moment in the game where it would have been natural for any Zora to bring her up, with the crisis happening, and the feelings about Mipha being so fresh to them. It made me feel like it was a world that was alive! Sidon is a hundred years old but you expect to meet everybody important to him in the first game he appears in?
Also, I do think Yona’s existence was hinted, with Muzu there, and every other Zora looking like they could be Sidon’s sibling or child… I personally really felt like the Domain looked inbred in comparison. Was the only other option blue Mipha? Lame.
Can you imagine a young Muzu? Vibrant green, chibi-headed, Dorephan's very own "best friend". Come on.
Tumblr media
Sidon is just like his dad fr
What about not getting married at all?
The thing with kingdoms, is that it specifically depends on a royal line, especially in Hyrule where abilities are given from parent to children. There was always going to be a need for a Zora Queen at some point.
What was the other option, simply not meeting Yona? Not addressing it? How tragic to imagine her absence, a lonely King with an elderly father, no mother, no sister, just a monogamous mass of subjects. And Muzu.
No, there needed to be a fiancée, a weird Link-like gremlin, who was there to accept their love. I don't believe Sidlink could have a better happy ending than this, given nintendo.
SQFD: If Sidon was to marry anybody to continue the royal line, it’s Link’s Zora-sona of course. Which is Yona.

03- Crying in the Rain
Ship: Zelink
Modern AU!
I started to write this YEARS and i mean years ago. I decided to continue where my younger self left off and fix up a lot of things! :)
Warnings: Zelda gets in a verbal fight with her father Right at the get go. So that might be triggering! But it’s very short!
Not a warning: lots of zelink fluff and hugging because I love hugs. And the both of them need hugs.
(Also… I apologize if there are random ‘I’ and ‘my’’s in there. I changed the perspective from first person to third halfway through but I hope I got everything!)
If you liked this one-shot here’s more ———> Zelink Master list
////////////////////////
“Well I’m not my mother!” Zelda’s clenched fists shook at her sides. “She wasn’t a failure! She. She-“
“That’s enough Zelda!” Her fathers words cut through her own, automatically making her eyes fill with unwanted tears. “You will continue your studies. That. Is. Final. Do I make myself clear?”
Zelda clenched her jaw until her teeth hurt. She swallowed a forceful sob and nodded once.
“You may go.”
His tone was light but the words were cruel. Zelda turned her back on him and grasped the golden knob. The door clicked behind her and she wasted no time breaking into a sprint. She weaved through the vast, tiled hallways of her father’s abode. Her blue converse squeaked against the slick flooring as she avoided cleaning staff members and potted plants. A bubbling need to escape the confines of the house nearly ate her alive.
She ripped the front door open and slammed it behind her. Cool air rushed through her nose and a shudder tore through her chest. Her emerald eyes landed on the cloudy sky. It mirrored exactly what she felt at the moment: a gloomy storm cloud with a chance of rain at any second.
She needed someone to talk to. She needed a safe place.
Link. Her shaky fingers grasped her phone from her jean pocket. Only a few taps away. He’s only a few taps away. His name popped onto the black screen and Zelda raised her phone to her pointed ear as she walked away from the annoyingly perfect grass, the disgustingly perfect flower beds, the outrageously perfect image her father created. All of it made her want to cry.
It was too much. His expectations were drowning her.
“Please pick up. Please pick up.” Zelda’s short breaths were dangerously close to falling into sobs. She stared at the sidewalk, distracting herself with the lines and cracks as she walked.
Voicemail.
The blonde girl’s stomach sank.
“No. No. No.” He always picks up, always. Unless he’s at work or in the middle of a soccer/football game… or he’s sleeping.
Zelda shook her head. “It’s okay. It’s okay. Just call… Urbosa.”
Voicemail.
“Mipha.”
Voicemail.
“Aunt Sonia.”
Voicemail.
“Revail? No, he wouldn’t be great for this… and Daruk is on a cruise. Yona and Sidon are on their honeymoon.”
Zelda scrolled through her limited contacts, finding no one. She let her screen turn black. She was alone, she couldn’t talk to anyone, and she didn’t feel safe. Link was her safe space.
Her legs seemed to move on their own, trailing a familiar path as she started to run. Her pace lined up with the beats of her thundering heart. He didn’t live that far away right? She didn’t stop running. Not when her lungs gasped for air or when her knees started to hurt. Raindrops fell from the clouds, batting her forehead and peppering her clothes.
Normally, she drove to Link’s. But it was just her luck that her car broke down yesterday. Something about the engine.
Zelda skidded to a stop, nearly slipping on the slick sidewalk, when she felt a repetitive buzz in her back pocket. She fumbled for her phone and her eyes snapped to the caller.
White lettering glowed against the new water droplets on her screen. Link. Oh thank Hylia.
She pressed the green icon and held the phone to her ear. “H-hello?”
”Zelda?” Aryll’s voice rang through the speaker. Zelda’s eyes blinked in surprise, she was not expecting to hear from her boyfriend's younger sister.
“A-Aryll! Hello.” Zelda swallowed a lump in her throat, attempting to sound happy.
”What’s up?”
”Nothing. Everything’s fine.”
“Oh Zelda what’s wrong? You sound sad. Wait, Wait. Let me grab Link. The idiot fell asleep on his math papers.”
”Okay, okay.” She nodded along as she felt her breath hitch in her throat. Everything was going to be fine.
”Ew and he’s drooling. Your professor is not going to want your work now, Big Brother.” That caused Zelda to chuckle a bit. Leave it up to Aryll to calm the growing pit in my stomach.
“Link. Liiiiiiink. Wake up. For the love of- he sleeps like a rock. Link-“ Zelda’s ears picked up on a low groan. “Oh thank Hylia! Link, now that you're out of what seemed like a 100 year nap… the love of your life is on the phone! This is urgent and you can resume your beauty sleep later….. which you definitely need.”
Oh she really had no filter sometimes.
“Thanks Aryll.” Zelda heard her boyfriend mumble. To which Aryll responded with a ‘Duh’.
“Zel? Hey, what’s up?”
The sound of his voice made her throat close up and brought tears to her eyes. “Link, hey,” Zelda managed to croak out.
“Zelda.“ She could picture the immediate crease of his eyebrows. “What’s wrong?”
No, I don’t want to say it now. I can’t.
“Is it… is it okay if I come over?” Zelda replied instead, barely able to voice her words.
“What? Of course, you’re always welcome over-“ A truck siren blew over his sentence and she whipped her head towards it. A small red car decided it was a smart idea to swerve in front of a huge truck… while it was raining. Some people really shouldn’t have licenses.
”Zelda? Are you outside?” Her eyes snapped back to her phone. “Where are you?”
“Hyrule Park. I’m at Hyrule Park.” A gust of wind shot past her, ruffling her long golden hair and sending a shiver up her arms. She couldn’t tell if her sniffles were caused by the freezing rain or her own tears.
“Hyrule Park?! That’s far from your house and it’s going to… it is raining! You’re going to get sick.” He paused. “….Zelda, did something happen with your dad?”
She sucked in a sharp breath, the sting stabbing at her lungs. “Yeah.”
She could hear the wooden creak of his old stairs and the jingle of car keys. “Stay where you are, Zel. I’m coming to get you.”
“Link you don’t-“ she started to say. “I’m not too far from your house-“
“It’s a 15 minute walk. I’m not letting you do that.”
“I-“ Zelda stop it. she chided herself. “Okay.” A sniffle escaped her reddening nose. “Thank you, Link.”
“Always.”
“Can… can you stay on the phone too?”
“Of course.”
———————-
“I’m just around the corner.”
“Okay.” Zelda leaned against a tree trunk. Rain pattered onto her skin and into her hair, every drop sent prickles of cold into her veins. She had found a nice spot under the tree but it didn't stop the rain from finding its way to her. Her damp clothes made her tremble slightly, it probably wasn’t good for her to stay outside.
The rumble of Link’s truck made Zelda’s head turn. Wow. That was fast… Almost too fast. She pushed herself off of the tree trunk and waved at him.
His truck came to a stop and he immediately hopped out of the driver's side.
Zelda knew she was lucky. Of course Link was handsome with his beautiful ocean eyes, his dirty blonde hair, and his light smiles. She knew, everyone knew. (they did not hesitate to tell her and she couldn’t help but agree.) But she really loved his soul and his heart. He was a sweet, genuine, selfless guy who had loyalty and compassion for his friends and loved ones. She just couldn’t fathom how someone like him could exist.
“Hey,” he breathed out once he reached her. He hugged her against him and she wrapped her arms around his waist. ”Zel, you’re shivering.”
She sniffled and hid her face in his chest, leaning into his warmth. ”And you’re warm.” Yeah, I’m so lucky.
”C’mon, I already have your seat heater on.”
“Oh you’re the best. Thank you.” Zelda smiled at him as she allowed him to lead her away.
“You got here pretty fast…”
He shrugged.
“Link, did you speed?”
“What? Zel. Of course not.” His eyes crinkled in mirth and an easygoing smirk tilted his lips.
“Liar.” Zelda rubbed her eyes and let out a laugh. He squeezed her shoulder and let out a chuckle as he led her to the passenger side of his truck.
Zelda didn’t realize how cold she actually was until she found herself sinking into the heat of the chair. Bless Link and his thoughtfulness.
“Here, I brought you a blanket.” Seriously bless him. Zelda would fight anyone who tried to hurt him.
Link signaled to pull away from the curb and they were on their way. Zelda watched the trees zip by as they drove and snuggled into the soft fabric of his green blanket.
“Aryll put some hot cider on the stove.” He glanced in the rear view mirror before switching lanes.
Zelda perked up at this. “Aw really? You guys are too good to me.”
“She insisted.” He shrugged.
“She’s so sweet.”
“Yeah. To you.” A smirk tilted his lips.
Zelda laughed. “She loves you a lot, you know.”
“Deep down.”
“No, I can see it plain as day.” She placed her elbow on the center console and rested her head in her palm.
Link chuckled and shook his head.
He held out his hand and she placed hers in his.
“Do you want to talk about it?”
Zelda sighed, her conversation with her father left a bitter taste in her mouth. “…I told him I didn’t want to go to school for a business degree any longer and instead I wanted to pursue a degree in engineering. Which I argue is just as good! I get to create things and research! I wanted to even take a minor in biology! But he blew up at me. I’m the one supposed to inherit the company. To be the CEO… I sound so ungrateful. I know. Anyone would love to inherit such a thing but I just… I don’t have a choice and that makes me angry.” Her eyes dropped to the keys lightly rattling in the cup holder. “I know my mothers death was hard on him and raising a young child alone is no easy feat. Especially one so strong willed as I am. I get it. But her death was hard on me too. I had to grow up without a mother for Hylia’s sake. But I know she would have wanted me to pursue anything I want. I just wish she were here to tell him.”
Link squeezed her hand.
“It’s so… it’s so silly. I’m an adult yet I’m still afraid to stand up for my father.”
“I don’t think it’s silly. It can be scary to stand up for yourself.”
Zelda nodded as he turned into his neighborhood. She didn’t know how else to ‘stand up’ to her father. She could get another job and tell him she’ll pay for her schooling instead. It would be a lot but she didn’t shy away from hard work.
Link pulled into his driveway and turned off the engine. He hopped out of the truck and walked around the front to her side. He opened her door and she met his eyes, water droplets glittered on his blonde bangs though he didn’t seem to care. His eyebrows were creased and a light frown tugged down at his lips.
“You can do anything you want to do, Zel.” He placed his hand on her cheek and she covered it with one of her own. “It’s your life you should be able to pursue anything…But, that being said, I know that has to be hard when you don’t have his support.”
Her breath hitched in her throat and she nodded as tears clouded her vision. He said it perfectly. She covered her face with her free hand and let out a sob.
Link’s hand fell from her face. His arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her out of the seat. Once he set her on the ground, she hugged him around his neck and hid her face in his collarbone.
The only thing that filled the silence was Zelda’s muffled sobs and the rain pattering against the cement.
“I’ll support whatever you decide to do. I’m here.” His hand slid into her wet hair as he pulled her closer.
She nodded.
“C’mon, let’s get you dried off and into warmer clothes, yeah?”
“Yeah.” Zelda wiped her nose with her sleeve.
She let him guide her away from the truck and her shoulders relaxed as she turned her attention to his house. The familiar clinking melody of the wind chime reached Zelda’s ears. The chime had metal silent princesses dangling from the chains, her favorite flower. Potted plants with various flowers lined the walkway.
Warmth and cinnamon hit her nose when Link opened the front door.
“Aryll?” Link called out. “I’m back.”
“Coming!” Aryll yelled. “Zelda!” Zelda watched as she raced down the stairs and crashed into her.
“Woah! Hey Aryll!” She returned Aryll’s bone crushing hug.
Aryll pulled back and grinned up at her. Her blonde hair was up in her signature pigtails and she wore a blue shirt that made her sea blue eyes pop. She looked so much like Link it still baffled Zelda.
“I’m so glad you’re here! Aw, I knew you were sad.” Aryll pointed at Zelda’s eyes and frowned, her eyebrows falling. “Wait here.”
Zelda raised her eyebrows at Link and he shrugged before taking off his shoes. Zelda followed suit.
Aryll sprinted down the hall with a blanket wrapped around her shoulders. “This is my favorite blanket.” The fabric had mini seagulls and pirate ships scattered around the blue fluffy sea. “You can use it while you’re here. I hope it makes you feel better.”
”Thank you Aryll. I feel better already.” Zelda accepted the gift with a warm smile.
“Oh! And the cider! Come.” Aryll ran down the tiled hallway and slid with her socks at the last second, almost tripping.
“Be careful, Aryll!” Link’s eyes widened.
“Ah!” She caught herself on the doorframe and looked back with a thumbs up. “I’m okay!”
Link let out a sigh and laughed lightly, tugging Zelda down the hall and into the kitchen.
They didn’t even make it through the doorway before Aryll was shoving a steaming mug in Zelda’s hands.
“Oh! Thank you!” The warmth of the mug immediately combated the ice of Zelda’s fingertips.
“You bet! I hope you like it! Aryll’s giddy smile made Zelda grin back. She took a sip of the honey-colored liquid and her mouth dropped.
Wow! What did you put in here? This is amazing!” It really was, there was just enough cinnamon and apple and it was sweet but not too sweet.
Aryll puffed out her chest and put her hands on her hips. “Secret recipe. You can know it when you’re officially part of the family.” She winked.
Zelda choked on her cider and coughed. She didn’t oppose the idea of her and Link getting married, she knew there was no one else for her, but they were both too young. Though she was happy to have the young girl’s approval.
“A-Aryll!” Link stuttered out. His ears were tinged red.
“What? Did I say something?” She tilted her head and gave him an innocent smile. Zelda knew it was far from innocent.
“N-nothing. Nothing. Zel, I left some of my clothes on my bed that you can use. Did you want to get changed?”
Zelda nodded, her face still hot. She set the mug on the counter and briskly walked away from the siblings.
—————
After Zelda dried out her soaked hair with a towel she tied it into a loose braid. She placed her hands on the counter as she observed herself in the mirror. Link’s green hoodie looked as comfortable as it felt (she really needed to know where he bought his sweatshirts.) Her eyes were still puffy and her cheeks were still pink. I’m okay.
And she would be. Eventually. Once she set a plan for her future and stood up for herself she would be. But that was for another day. Today she wanted to spend the rest of it with her favorite person.
She nodded at herself and grasped the door handle. Her footsteps were light as she ambled down the hall. She turned into the kitchen and grabbed her abandoned cider. Her eyes flicked to Link—-who sat at the counter with his phone in hand. She walked toward him and he glanced up at her and smiled, pocketing the device.
“Hey. Nice hoodie, where’d you get it?” He wiggled his eyebrows.
Zelda chuckled, stopping beside him, and shook her head. “It’s my boyfriend’s.”
“No.” His jaw dropped. “You’re taken?!”
“Happily taken.” She grinned and sipped at her cider.
Link sighed. “Just when I was about to profess my undying love for you.”
“I fear you’re too late. My heart belongs to another.” She rested her hand against her forehead.
They stared at each other before erupting into giggles.
“That. Right there,” Link said suddenly.
“What?”
“That’s my favorite smile of yours.”
She looked between his eyes and raised her eyebrows. “What smile?”
“When you’re just being you.” He rested his head in his palm as he stared at her.
“Well…” Heat crept up her cheeks and she placed her mug on the counter. “…it’s easy to be myself with you.
“I’m happy to hear that.”
Zelda smiled again and moved to wrap her arms around his neck. He hugged her waist and pulled her close.
“Thank you, Link.”
He hugged her tighter. “I’d do anything for you, Zel… I love you.”
Her heart never failed to speed up at those three words. “I love you more.”
“No way.”
She shook her head and a chuckle escaped her. “Yes way.”
“I definitely love you more.” His breath tickled her ear.
The blonde laughed again and rolled her eyes. “Whatever helps you sleep at night.”
“Yeah, yeah.” He pulled away and swiftly kissed her lips to which she smiled in response. “Want to watch a show?”
“I’d love that… wait where’s Aryll?”
“She’s playing her game she’s been talking about. Something about a hero and a princess? I need to ask her about it.” He grasped her hand and walked toward the couch. Zelda noticed there was a stack of neatly folded blankets sitting on top of the ottoman.
Link picked up two of the blankets and tossed them on the cushions before grabbing a few pillows and creating—-what Zelda could describe it as—-a makeshift pillow throne.
Link hopped into the mountain of blankets and held out both of his arms toward her. He raised his eyebrows as if to say, ‘What are you waiting for?’ “Snuggles await, Your Highness.”
“Oh my Hylia. Link, you didn’t just say that.” Zelda giggled into her hand.
“What?” He grinned.
Zelda shook her head and laid on top of him. She nestled into his warmth and rested her head on his chest. His heartbeat softly thumped against her ear and she slowly dozed off into a peaceful slumber.
——————
Link lightly massaged Zelda’s back as he flipped through the TV channels. Her breathing evened and she passed out. It didn’t surprise him that she did, especially with all the stress her dad put her through.
He didn’t hate the guy. He was just frustrated with him. Very frustrated. She clearly had a passion for something else so let her do it. It wasn’t that hard of a concept, at least that’s what Link thought.
“Well excuuuuuuuuuse me princess.” He flinched at the sudden voice. He had completely forgotten about this show. He also forgot that he and the protagonist shared the same name. Nope, he did not want to remember anything else. The whole series felt like a fever dream.
He flipped to a baking channel. The contestants each had to create a dessert based on the different regions of Hyrule. I could get behind this.
The front door opened and Link flicked his eyes away from the dimmed TV screen. His mom was hanging up her keys.
“Hey honey! Oh!” She glanced at the sleeping blonde in his arms. “Zelda’s here!” she whispered excitedly.
Link returned her smile. “Hey Ma. How was work?”
”It was great.” His mom motioned toward Zelda. ”Is she okay?” She tilted her head, worry lacing her frown.
“I think she’s okay now.” Link ran a hand up and down Zelda’s back. “She’s had a long day. I’m just trying to make it better.”
”Aw. Poor girl.” She shook her head and placed her bag on the counter. “Do you think she’d like it if I made fruitcake? I thought I heard you mention something about that.”
“Yes, that's her favorite. I think she’d love it if you did that, Mom.”
”Alright, I’ll hop to it.”
“Thank you.” Link heard the oven beep behind him
”You know…” He looked over his shoulder to meet his mom’s gaze. “I’m proud of the man you’ve turned out to be Link. You’re just like your father.”
His eyes softened. ”Thanks Ma. That means a lot coming from you.“
She sent him a smile and dropped her gaze to the worn out recipe on the counter. “Just so you know, Zelda’s welcome to stay the night, anytime. For as long as she needs. Don’t let her forget that. She’s basically family.”
It made Link’s heart warm that his family loved being around Zelda. “I won’t.”
He returned his gaze to the tv. Apparently, he missed a lot since the contestants were already being judged.
The next round was based on the three goddesses, and halfway through Link felt Zelda stir.
She lifted her head and sniffed. “Is that fruitcake I smell?” she asked, her voice sleepy. Link laughed lightly.
“It is!” His mom’s voice rang through the kitchen.
“Oh! Ms. Hero! You’re home.” Zelda blinked in surprise.
“That’s Nayra to you, Zelda. I thought since Link mentioned it was your favorite and I do make a good fruitcake I wanted to make you some.”
Link watched as Zelda’s lips quirked upward.
“Oh! That’s so sweet, you didn’t have to.”
“It’s my pleasure.”
Zelda moved to get up but Link held her tighter.
“No.” He pouted and she rolled her eyes.
“Link, I'll cuddle more with you after.”
“But the cake needs to cool down… right?”
She raised an eyebrow and he sighed.
“You promise we will?”
“Yes. Of course.” She held out a pinky and he twisted theirs together.
“….fine.” He watched as she walked away from the living room and into the kitchen. She gave his mom a hug.
“Honey, are you okay?” His mom asked, holding the sides of her face.
“Yeah.” Zelda nodded once. “I’m okay now. I have your son to thank for that.”
Link pushed away from the couch and walked towards the two.
“Ah yes, he’s behaving I hope?” His mom asked behind her hand.
“Ma.” Link raised an eyebrow which made Zelda giggle.
“Oh honey I’m just teasing.” She reached up to ruffle his hair. His mom handed Zelda a plate with a slice of the fruit delicacy. “I hope you enjoy!”
“Thank you.” Zelda sat beside Link and took a bite of the colorful treat. “Mm! It’s very delicious, Nayra.”
“Glad to hear it! You two can have as much as you want.” Link didn’t need to be told twice.
He flicked his eyes between his cake and Zelda’s expression, his eyebrows creasing slightly. He studied the way she nudged her cake pieces around with her fork and the way she breathed in to speak but she never did. Something was either bothering her or she was working up the courage to ask something.
“Zelda. What’s up?” Link set down his fork and pivoted toward her.
She turned her head to him. “What?”
“I know you. What’s wrong?”
“Nothing’s wrong, it's just… Can I stay? I’m not… I’m not ready to go back there yet.”
Link raised his eyebrows. She didn’t even have to ask of course the answer was going to be yes. “Yes, Zel. You can stay as long as you want.”
“Longer than that,” his mom chimed in. “Just move in at this point!”
Link’s ears burned and Zelda giggled lightly. That was two comments from both Aryll and his mother. Hylia spare me.
“Thank you, Nayra,” Zelda responded.
“Of course, honey. You’re always welcome here. And I mean it.” She pointed a wooden spoon in their direction.
Link resumed eating and wolfed down his two pieces of cake before going for a third piece.
“I forget how fast you eat.” Zelda raised her eyebrows.
“It’s my talent.” He grinned.
Zelda snorted and finished off her last piece.
“Back to cuddles?” Link clasped his hands together.
Zelda laughed through her nose and placed her fork on her plate. She reached up to wipe the stray crumbs from his cheek. “Yes. Back to cuddles.”

Sidon x Yona thoughts (Part One)
Warning: this is just me rambling
Tumblr media
The reason why I love these two together is because they’re both selfless and they don’t revolve around each other that much. I love it when couples do things outside of their relationship. They know their duties as future king and queen. Yona has to heal and tend to people who were infected by the threat, while Sidon has to keep the domain from being contaminated any further. I say that these two are a power couple. They’re both friends since childhood and yes, they both need to catch up, but their people comes first. Couples need to be apart in order to be together.
I never really ship Sidon with anyone (until now) because I’m way too picky about romance and shipping. Also, I don’t want a ship to take over an entire story. Sidon is going through a lot of shit. He lost his sister (and possibly his mother), his father almost died, and his home and people are at stake. Do people not understand how afraid he is of losing Yona, the only woman in his life!? If it weren’t for her, he’d be mentally exhausted and the domain would be in more danger. He cant do things on his own and he was stuck in Mipha Court for a while.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After the sludge monster attack, Sidon went to her first going off on how scared he is if anything happens to her. He even begged her to stay at the domain where it’s safe. Also, he even refuses to work with Link because his fear was holding him back, and Yona was the one who notice this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like Mipha, Yona is strict with him when she has to be because he’s letting his fear take over him. She convinced him TWICE to assist Link with the sludge, but he was hesitant which caused Yona to be a bit frustrated, justifiably so. I’m really glad that Yona is not like those bitch-ass characters who’ screams, “Stop acting like I’m weak and a damsel in distress! I don’t need YOU controlling me!” Instead, she understands how worried he is of losing someone he loves again, and she appreciates he worries for her safety, but there are more important matters at hand. After several attempts convincing him, he finally entrust Yona to guard the domain once again knowing that she’ll be fine. It’s all about trust and communication. Even the other Zora’s knew that the communication was lacking and they’re glad that these two were able to have that chance. (If you spoke to Chroma and Rivan, they ship them lol)
(Okay, I’ve been on this site for a while, but I forgot this thing has a limit, so part two I guess)

1. one step closer
Tumblr media
A/N: Hello everyone!! I present to you my very first LoZ fic!!! And also my first ever poly ship fic that's been posted, so I hope I do this as well as I'd like to. This story is actually inspired by a post I came across that was posted by @fangirlingpuggle, who gave me permission to use their idea as story inspiration!! I'll provide a link to the post if you'd like to see it!! Now, one thing I'd like to say about this story is that it's not just a Sidlink fic or just a Linkona fic. It is also a Sidyona fic. It is all three ships. I will try to balance out each one, showing each individual love story, plus the big one of just all three together. I have not yet decided which ship will be getting together first, or if it'll be an all three all at once type of thing, and because of my indecision, I would like to hear from you guys, my lovely readers, as the story progresses, on which ship you think would make the most sense when it comes to getting together first. It all depends on how I write it out, of course, but I just wanted to let y'all know ahead of time!! Last thing, this chapter is a little short compared to where the other chapters will be at length-wise, but it's also just a letter exchange this chapter, so there will be lots more in the next chapter!! Enjoy!!

Dear Lady Yona,
I hope this letter finds you well. I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you, things around here have been a bit busy. Vah Ruta, the divine beast that my late sister Mipha once piloted, well, something has gone wrong with it. It's caused a near constant downpour of rain here in our domain and if we don't find a way to stop it, our reservoir will flood over the dam and completely take over not only our home, but much of the rest of Hyrule as well. And of course, us Zoras can survive just fine in such a situation, but the others in our land cannot, none of them have such an affinity for water as the Zora do.
With that in mind, I am terribly worried. We've been doing so much research it's making my head spin. I'm not sure I can take staring at another book right now, especially when everything it says is completely useless to our attempts in finding a solution to this problem. I just pray that we find a way to stop it soon.
How are things over in your domain? Good, I hope. I would never wish anything like the mess here on anyone. I miss you much, my friend, though I know if you were to visit right now, I would not be very good company to keep. And alas, I cannot bring myself to leave home at a time like this. As prince, I must face this head on. But once this is all over, we can work out the details, I suppose, no matter how far off that is. Get back to me whenever you find the time to do so.
Sincerely,
Sidon
~*~
Dear Prince Sidon,
Oh my. Please be careful. I, too, will be praying for a quick success in taming that divine beast. I wish I could help in some way. I am sending with this letter the few sheikah books I could find in our royal library, though I'm not sure if they'll be of any help, considering the sheikah have never spent much time here. But it's the least I can do. And do not worry about sending them back once you've looked over them. These have been collecting dust for decades over here. They will be much better off with you.
Things here in my domain are very well, though nothing very exciting has happened at the domain itself. However, recently, I've taken on two new handmaidens. Mother suggested I have them, especially since I've started doing a lot more traveling around our land. Khira and Chroma are lovely, when they're not bickering at least. Chroma can be a bit easily frazzled and Khira is usually very serious and strict. But I just try to remind them both that I am not counting on either of them being perfect. Just their companionship alone is wonderful to have.
But anyways. On your land, you have those winged tribe, yes? Those that resemble birds? I remember meeting one when we were younger, but I never had much contact with them besides that. But in my travels, I came across a very small village of them on our land! All the way across the sea! But they're much more colorful than the one I met. Brilliant greens and oranges and reds. I spent a few days there, learning about them and their culture. It's absolutely fascinating!
I may visit them again eventually, but for now, I've come back to the domain for awhile. I'll be setting out again soon, so I'll be sure to tell you lots more of my next adventure. And once this whole divine beast thing has settled down, I'll come visit your domain as soon as I can. Besides, mother has been a lot more pushy recently when it comes to our...arrangement. She believes it is time for me to finally marry, though I've tried to remind her that it's not just up to her and I, but you and your father as well. But there's no need to worry about that right now. That's for another time. Take care, dear Sidon, and I hope to hear from you again soon.
Yours,
Yona
~*~
Dear Lady Yona,
Thank you so much for the texts you sent. I will be going through them soon.  The rain is still neverending, but we're learning to get used to it for now. It's all we can do. And do not worry, I am being as careful as I can be. But enough of that. I'm so glad to hear of you going on such wonderful adventures, Yona. The... winged tribe, as you say, those are the Rito. It is indeed fascinating to learn of some being on your land, I thought they were only in Hyrule. The way you've described them, I bet they are quite the sight. Maybe one day I shall get to see them as well.
Tell me, what is having handmaidens like? I've always wondered. I have nothing of the sort, though I'm okay with that. Is it true they always follow you around and try to do everything for you that you may usually do yourself? I could never imagine having to deal with such a thing. Though my only experience with them is the few vague memories I have of Mipha having one and the stories I've heard about them, so maybe I'm not one who could be so biased against them.
Oh, yes. Our arranged marriage does seem to be coming up more and more these days. Both here and there, it seems. Father has been talking about it as well. Says he wants me to be prepared for when I finally take the throne, but I'm not so sure that will be happening anytime soon. But I suppose it would be best for us all to talk about it eventually. Once Vah Ruta is back to her normal self, our domain will happily host both you and your mother. Until then, I can't wait to hear of all your adventures to come. Please do keep in touch to the best of your abilities during your travels, I will find great joy in reading about them.
Sincerely,
Sidon
~*~
Dear Prince Sidon,
Ah, yes, the Rito! Forgive me for forgetting their name, it's been so long since I've heard it. Those I found here did not go by that name. They called themselves the Zitty. But they were the same species, I'm sure of it. Next time you find yourself on my land, I will definitely be sure to take you to see them. They're quite the lively bunch, and wonderful company to keep. I think you would fit in very well with them.
Silly Sidon. Yes, some handmaidens are very much like that. However, Khira and Chroma are not. While they do follow me to most places, they do not attempt to do something for me unless I ask it of them, thankfully. I could not handle being coddled in such a way either, so I am very grateful that they are not pushy in that regard. And no worries, I take none of your assumptions unkindly. I am happy to answer any questions you may have, about handmaidens or otherwise. You know that.
That sounds like a very good idea. I'm sure mother would love to spend some time overseas as well. Oh, it's been so long since I've paid a visit, I can't wait. Has any progress been made with Vah Ruta? Did my books help you at all? I apologize if they did not, though I hope that something has been found either way. Please keep me updated.
Yours,
Yona
~*~
Dear Lady Yona,
Yona. I cannot believe what this day has become. I do apologize if my writing isn't the best, I just can't keep myself from shaking. So much has happened in just this last pass of the sun through the sky. I will start with this. All of our research finally paid off and the books you sent me were definitely of great help with that. We learned of the way Vah Ruta works, of her mechanisms and what controls the water she spews. The best solution is to shock her system with electricity, like shock arrows. However, as you know, electricity is deadly to Zora, therefore we cannot use them.
Because of this, we'd begun asking for help. Traveling a bit away from the domain and looking for travelers, asking if any of them would be willing. We had no luck finding such a person, until yesterday. A young traveler was making his way past and I asked for his help. Later I found out that many others had spoken to him as well about what was going on. I asked for his help and he actually said yes! I was beyond grateful. He carried with him armor and weaponry, including a bow and arrow, so I already had high hopes for his success. He made his way to our domain and I did as well, trying to guide him whenever our paths crossed.
I had asked his name when we first met, and I didn't think too much of it at first. His name is Link. I'm sure he wouldn't be the first to be named after such a well-known hero. However, upon bringing him to meet my father, I found that I had been wrong. My father knows this young man. Because this Link is the same exact Link from one hundred years ago! And he came here to our domain to fix Vah Ruta as part of his quest to complete what was started all those years ago.
Oh, Yona, he's even more amazing than either one of us has ever imagined. Even better than all of our childish wonders. Him and I worked together quite closely in order to get Vah Ruta working properly again. I carried him on my back as I swam through the reservoir, getting as close to Vah Ruta as I dared so that he could shoot each of her mechanisms. I would launch him up and he would shoot up into the air, pulling his bow out with such ease. Once he had an arrow nocked, it was like time slowed down just for him. He made perfect shots each time. And then he ventured inside the divine beast to destroy the beast inside, the waterblight created by Calamity Ganon all those years ago, the same one that killed my sister, Mipha.
As soon as he was inside, I returned to the domain and waited anxiously for his return. He was gone for so long. He only just returned about an hour before I'm writing this, and the moon was already high in the sky. And when he finally returned, he looked exhausted. But miraculously, not a single serious injury was on him. He was covered in scratches and bruises, dried blood on most of them, and dirt all over his face, but that was the worst of it. And Yona, oh Yona. He's so beautiful. He's fierce, determined, kind, and gorgeous. I can understand why my sister fell for him so. I can't get him out of my head and my entire body is positively vibrating with excitement.
Now that Vah Ruta is tamed, you must come right away. With your mother, too, of course. You must come and meet him. He'll be staying in the domain for a few weeks before he moves on, so he'll definitely still be here when you arrive. Oh, I can't wait for you to see him. Please, come as soon as you can.
Sincerely,
Sidon
~*~
Dear Prince Sidon,
My friend, I write to you as my bags are being packed for my visit to your domain. Mother is delighted to be taking the trip and much like you, I find myself buzzing with excitement. What you've described...I cannot believe it. Link? The Link? How is that even possible? Oh, I'm sure you'll explain it when I get there. I'm so glad that the threat to your land is no more, I am so very grateful for whatever brought such a hero to your domain.
Oh, I want to know all about him. I haven't felt such a feeling since we were children, Sidon. And even now, my childish dreams are coming back to me, even if I know how silly they are. What do you think he thinks of you? What do you think he'll think of me? Do you think he likes women or men? Maybe both? What things does he like? What things does he dislike? I can't wait to ask.
Oh my, the excitement is overwhelming. I apologize for how short of a letter this is. It's mostly just to tell you that we will be leaving shortly and should arrive soon after this letter does. I cannot wait to see you again, Sidon. Make sure you put in a good word for me with our new hero friend, if it's not too much to ask.
Yours,
Yona

Zora May: Tides that Bind- Yona's Struggles
Cut the fic cause long...
It hadn’t been too long since Yona had entered the domain, and Selatoh could hardly stand to be cordial with her. There was hardly anything Selatoh could do other than dive head first into her training every day. She knew she was avoiding Sidon a little too much ever since Yona arrived, but Sidon rarely asked Yona to wait somewhere. Even if Selatoh knew why, even if she could logically understand what was going on, she didn’t like Yona’s presence. And Yona could feel that animosity, simply without any context. So when Link arrived, without Princess Zelda for once, Selatoh almost jumped him.
“Link, what brings you to the Domain this time?”
Selatoh was quicker than Yona in getting to the Hylian Knight. Something the other Zora Princess didn’t mind entirely, except for the way Selatoh shifted in an attempt to block Yona out completely. Link didn’t even seem to notice as he dug out his Zora Armor.
“I was hoping to get this repaired, if you don’t mind.” Link held the worn tunic out, “I wasn’t sure where else to go about this. The clothing shops in Hateno and Kakariko were the only ones that seemed versatile enough to even try but…”
“Don’t worry about a thing Link.” Selatoh’s little smirk was about as warm as she’d been in weeks, “I’ll have this fixed up in a few weeks. I wish I could say a few days but…”
“Perhaps if I also helped,” Yona side-stepped into the conversation, “The two of us could have the armor fixed up in a single week.”
Link couldn’t miss the way Selatoh’s eyes narrowed, “No, I highly doubt you’d be able to make sense of the weave. Mipha was very particular about the details and it wouldn’t be the same if someone who didn’t know her pattern were to make a mistake with it.”
Walking away almost too fast, Yona frowned deeply at Selatoh’s retreating form. Though it was crystal clear to Link what was going on, shaking his head regardless.
“I do wish she would stop shutting me out.” Yona crossed her arms slightly, “It has been quite worrying, especially to my dear Sidon. The way he usually talks about Selatoh, I was expecting a much more friendly person…”
“Selatoh doesn’t mean anything personal.” Link turned back to the dusty, lime green Zora, “She can be very territorial with people she isn’t familiar with. Especially when it comes to people and things from her childhood.”
“Oh?” Yona turned, “Would you please enlighten me Sir Link? I could prepare some tea if you’d like.”
“I’ll explain what I can, a few of the details are still a little fuzzy.” Link followed slightly behind Yona, “What has Sidon told you?”
Sitting at a small table with Yona, Link chewed over the situation as Yona had explained it. The way Selatoh was acting made some sense to Link. Sure Sidon had told everyone who would listen about Yona, but to Selatoh, Yona would still be a stranger… one that was taking her twin from her.
“I don’t think Selatoh fully means to be so rude toward you.” Link leaned back in his chair, “She has always been stand-off-ish about new people. When she was small-small it was different, not by much but she didn’t try pushing people away this much. Whenever someone would try to get too close with her or Sidon she could get a bit snappy until Mipha corrected her. But that was always very specific situations like when they were playing or talking.”
“Oh, that does make a little sense.” Yona tilted her head, “I wouldn’t particularly like that either. But could you elaborate on her relationship with her late sister? Sidon rarely talks about Mipha himself. I don’t want to pry in a sensitive area but without any context…”
“Mipha was their older sister, but also took over as a motherly figure.” Link frowned a little, “I don’t fully remember when their mother passed, or how young Sidon and Selatoh were at the time. But I know Mipha had taken over that role, Selatoh is more okay talking about her than Sidon is. Its one of the few things Selatoh doesn’t talk about with Sidon because she knows how he feels about it.”
Yona was taken aback by Link’s sudden chuckling, “Funnily enough when Mipha started showing interest in me, Sidon was acting how Selatoh is now. Selatoh would cling to my leg though. She’s told me that it wasn’t out of a sense of her own romantic feelings, but an attempt to get Sidon to warm up to the idea that Mipha and I would be together. I wouldn’t put it past Selatoh to just not recognize that she’s doing the same thing.”
“I see.” Yona glanced across toward the training grounds, “I had no idea Sidon would ever act like that. Nor that Selatoh would advocate for someone new to enter the Domain like that.”
“It wasn’t like I was exactly new.” Link followed her gaze, “I had been in and out of the Domain a few times, I had trained within the Domain, and had befriended Mipha, Sidon, and Selatoh. From what I’ve heard around around the Domain, especially recently, is that Selatoh is difficult to talk to or befriend.”
The soft hum Yona let out was both thoughtful and agitated, “I don’t see how I could even begin to ingratiate myself to her. Selatoh seems to keep me at arm’s length at all times. The idea that she’s being defensive over my dear Sidon seems a little excessive given how long I’ve been in the Domain.”
Link held his tongue, glancing over the opposite edge of the platform. A couple years was still too short a time for Selatoh to warm up to anyone. If the people of Zora’s Domain, the people of Hyrule, were still having difficulty after 100 years; Yona didn’t stand a chance just being around for a couple years. Though Link had a sneaking suspicion that Selatoh had other reasons behind her rough edges about the new Zora within the Domain.

Note
Been loving Breath of the Sky, and Chronicals of the Domain has been peaking my interest a ton! (I'm biased don't judge me) Ignore this ask if you've gone over it before, but what's the general dynamics/relationships between the Hylian knights and different Zora Guards in CotD? Are some more friendly while some are more harsh in terms of views?
I’m happy you’re enjoying it! :D No judgment here, we all like what we like!
Given how the elder Zora act in BotW, given how Mipha and Link’s relationship is kept subtle before the Calamity (which could honestly be due to a million factors, but it seems at least a little implied that the Zora/Hylian relationship wasn’t entirely perfect), and given that Link’s first visit to the Domain is with a legion of Hylian soldiers, I decided that CotD takes place in a period where Zora and Hylian relations are strained.
Zora’s Domain and Hyrule haven’t been in good communication with each other, but the death of the Queen, Dorephan’s mother, is an opportunity that Queen Zelda is willing to take to help rebuild the uneasy trust between the two peoples. Dorephan is willing to hear them out (Sidon obviously gets his endless optimism from his dad), his wife… not so much. The two peoples have had skirmishes in the past over things, though never outright war. As such, the captain of the Hylian team has experience fighting Zora and doesn’t really trust them. Some Zora feel similar, while others are at least willing to listen. Dorephan is a good influence on his people, and as he’s gonna be king, that’s certainly helpful and something the Hyrule Queen wants to take advantage of. (King Rhoam doesn’t disagree with his wife, but he, much like Dorephan’s wife, is much more hesitant)
That’s the political landscape that Link and his dad are walking into. They just got there in time for the funeral so Hyrule can pay its respects, and the diplomatic hopes to try and build a foundation from there.

Miphlink: The day of vows
This is a entry for @miphlinkweek event Miphlinkweek2023 day 2: Proposal/wedding. This fanfiction is set in a Federal Japan AU with the Zoras as Hylians with their usual kimono colors is the colors of their main universe counterparts skins, and the wedding has a mix of Shinto wedding and western Cristian weddings. This story is also a test for the Shino wedding I planned to do on my entry for Inkag fluff week 2023.
Link walk left and right wearing his black robe, finding himself in his toughest challenge yet, which is making sure his wedding ceremony go off with any problems. For years, Link has been a freelance swordman, offering his services of protection to villages and clans during this age of war in Japan. Link never believed he would find happiness until he visit the Zora Domain, which he visited in his youth, and meet his childhood friend Mipha when he offer his services to the damiyo Dorephan. Mipha, whose is said to be a skilled healer and warrior in combat with the naginata, has grown to be a fine beautiful young woman since the years of their childhood, wearing a bring red and blue kimono with fish patterns. Soon, as time move on, the two friends become lovers, and Dorephan, Mipha's father, see evidence of this that he decided to have the two married. It is a nice idea that the both of them agreed, as well put Link in the position of being a samurai in service to Zora Domain.
However, marriage to a powerful family would lead to dealing with politics and that something that troubled Link. As he think, Link pause when he open a door open and watch as Mipha come out of her room, wearing a beautiful white kimono with a hood to hide her face from all others until the end of the wedding ceremony. Mipha's maidens has certainlly worked overtime to make their lady beauty for the ceremony as Link immediately said upon seeing Mipha, "You look beautiful." which Mipha smile. She hold her arm out and Link take it to lead the both of them to the room in the castle when the wedding ceremony is hold.
Link and Mipha enter the room where the wedding ceremony is hold and Mipha's family, her father and her younger but taller brother Sidon, were all sitting with some servants and a priest is at the center of the room, standing before a altar. Arm to arm, the two then walk to the altar and come before the priest, whose begins with some words, "Benevolent spirits of the ancestors, thank you for gathering us here today and for bringing these two in reunion. It is thank to you that Link and Mipha are blessed with each other and has come as one."
Three cups of different sizes are place in the altar and holy water are pour into them as the priest said, "Now, let the would-be married couple drink the holy water to represent their future as a happy father, a happy mother, and a child that would be born into their blessed life." Link the first cup, which was the smallest cup, and hand it to Mipha, whose drink from it. Next, Miha then drink from the second cup and hand it to Link to drink it. The order of the ones to drink from the third is a repeat of the drinking order of the first cup, with Link and then Mipha. Once the three cups are put away, the priest put evergreen on the altar and said, "Spirits of the ancestors, we place this evergreen to reflect our gratitude of you spirits for blessing their union. It is with your powers and the blessings of the goddess Hylia that they come together as one." The priest then said, "Now, I call for the ring bearer to bring forward the ring." A child put two silver rings on a pillow onto the altar next to the evergreen.
As the silver rings are lay on the altar, the priest said, "You may exchange the rings and make your wedding vows." Link put the wedding ring on Mipha's finger as he said, "I, Link, take thee, Mipha, to be my wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part, according to Hylia's holy ordinance; and thereto I pledge thee my faith." Soon, it was Mipha's turn to make her vows as she put the wedding ring on Link's finger, "I, Mipha, take thee, Link, to be my wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part, according to Hylia's holy ordinance; and thereto I pledge thee my faith."
Once the vows are done, the priest then said, "In the name of the goddess Hylia, they are, till dead do them part, now husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride." Link and Mipha happily kiss each other as the priest request, and everyone clap to signal the end of the ceremony. Breaking off from their kiss, Mipha cry happily at her and Link's special day as they head down the hall to the dining room for the fest.

Note
please please give me background info from AAZW that isn't in the fic! and any other AU you have!!!
Here are 5 backgrounds info that you won’t ever see in the main story but are 100% canon!!
(Disclamer: some of this might have been mentioned in the main fic, tho, but I’m a fishbrain who tends to forget what she wrote before :VVVVV )
1.- When he was little Link went through a long phase where he refused to eat his greens, because Mipha didn’t eat them and if she doesn’t then why would he? His father convinced him that he needed to eat his veggies to grow big and strong and protect Mipha, and that’s the only reason he started eating them. His mother was extremely grateful with his dad, because she was starting to get white hair from his son eating nothing but fish for an entire month.
2.- Ezil and Rivan met each other when he was first learning how to ascend waterfalls. He did a wrong turn, went flying away from the water and promptly fell right on top of her.
3.- Link gets easily startled by lightning, not so much because he is afraid of it, but because he has learnt that it is deadly and his first reaction is to think “Where’s Mipha?!…. oh yeah… back in the Domain.”
4.- Link gifted Sidon a book about Stories and Legends from around Hyrule. It’s the little Zora’s favorite thing ever because 1) it has a lot of action stories, and 2) Mipha always reads it to him before sleeping. It’s a THICC book.
5.- Dorephan has caught Link sneaking in and out of Mipha’s bedroom, and he always pretend to not see him.
From “Word in the Domain”
- Mipha IS alive, and she helps Link remember their relationship once he arrives to the Domain. It take time and patience, but he falls in love with her again, and she falls in love with this new - and happier - version of Link.
- Sidon tries to pull the Big Brother front over Link once, not so much because he thinks he should be protective of Mipha, but because he heard someone saying that’s what a good brother is supposed to do, and he wants to be the best brother. Mipha was more annoyed than angry, tho.
From “His Children”
- Link and Mipha never let anyone take the triplets away. The three grow happy in the Domain.
- Redon, his oldest son, went through a very difficult time once he heard Link was not his bio dad. He was afraid Link was lying about being okay with the triplets not being their bio children, so he lashed out and said hurtful things to Link, like “You can’t tell me what to do. You’re not even my real dad!” Link understood, even if it hurt a lot. The phase didn’t last long, but Redon always felt guilty about being such a brat, and made sure to tell Link how much he loved him every day.
- Remi was the one who took it the hardest once Link died. The triplets were still quite young when it happened, because of old age, and he refused to leave Mipha’s side for months. This actually was a great bonding time for them, even if it was a sad time. Remi does end up becoming a militar healer, finally being as cool as both his mom and dad. He ends up moving to the Ocean Kingdom, but visits regularly.
- Silfa grows up to become suuuuuuper beautiful, and since Link is no longer around to give all her suitors the “if you hurt her…” talk, it’s up to Uncle Rivan and Uncle Bazz to extend the warnings. Not that they need to, tho. Silfa is a weapon master and can protect herself perfectly fine. One of her suitors laughed at the though of an Hylian being so idiotic for thinking they could father a Zora pup, not realizing she was standing right there. Let’s just say said suitor can no longer swim well.
-The siblings have this very cute tradition where each year they make a special visit to Link’s tomb and leave garlands made of flowers found all over Hyrule, along with some of Link’s favorite dishes. They sit down, eat and talk about their lives and things they have been doing - thinks they don’t even dare to tell Mipha - hoping that Link will hear them and be happy for them, wherever he is.
:V I hope this wasn’t too sad!!!!

So, Link and Zelda are definitely together, absolute soul mates, definitely. Mipha was also at least interested in Link, and it’s implied they were together in some manner since she made an engagement outfit for him. Revali definitely also had a major crush on him, but was too prideful and homophobic to admit it to himself. Urbosa viewed Zelda as a daughter, and saw how Link looked at Zelda, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she took his Master Cycle for a spin, just to see what her little bird would be dealing with down the road. Impa was Zelda’s protector before Link, so she was definitely involved with one if not both of them back before the Calamity, and Purah and Robbie were definitely roped in at least a few times. Then, Sidon and Link met up post-resurrection and became the best of bros, and if Link is truly meant to be a stand-in for us, the Players, then he definitely fell hard for Sidon. Riju is very open and vulnerable with Link, in a way she isn’t even with Buliarra, her surrogate mother, suggesting she has feelings for him as well. After Breath of the Wild, Sidon goes on to get engaged to Yona, though he still shows clear affection for Link. Zelda, meanwhile, got shunted back in time and spent a lot of private time with both Sonia and Rauru, and I saw how those two looked at her—there was no way they didn’t rope her into their bedroom fun from time to time. That’s not even mentioning any dalliances with King Ganondorf she might’ve had before he made his moves. Purah is still very clearly affectionate to Link as well, and notably aged herself back to where she’s only visibly a few years older than him. And of course, we all know that regardless what happens at the end of Tears of the Kingdom, the ship we all want is Link and Zelda with Ganondaddy, Gerudo or Demon form. And then there’s all of the Great Fairies.
What I’m saying is that the real legend in these games is Link’s polycule, and how absolutely fucked our boy would be if all of his partners and his partners partners were in the room at the same time, and all gunning for him at once.

I've kind of wondered, how would Ilia get along with the Champions if they were still around? I imagine she'd think of Mipha as the best sister-in-law ever. Urbosa as the mother she always wanted. Daruk as the fun uncle everyone loves. And Revali... I'd like to think she'd try and get along with him, but would find it tough because of how he treated Link. As much as I love him, he was kind of an A-hole. Maybe they'd be arch rivals in archery? (Pun not intented).
Revali is constantly challenging Ilia to archery competitions. 🤣 She’d be a master by the time AoC happens, and he’d consider her a rival. Probably even uses the Great Eagle Bow from her time, too, lol, which he takes mild offense to because only he’s been able to use it thus far.
That said, Revali also finds her kind of pathetic, and doesn’t understand how she managed to help stop Calamity Ganon at all. He holds more respect for her than he does Link, as he can actually read her and does find her battle prowess quite impressive, knowing that she’s worked to get this strong, but he’d never admit it aloud. Ilia gets very upset whenever he starts to insult Link and immediately jumps to his defense.
Thus… irking Revali more, because he doesn’t understand what anyone sees in Link.
Mipha is the sweetest, and Ilia doesn’t have a single idea what she’s doing in the past except for the fact that she finally figured out how to play the Song of Time and that Hylia yeeted her there. So Ilia just kind of takes it upon herself to save Mipha.
Once the shock wears off on both parties, Mipha and Ilia get along really well! Ilia tells Mipha about how strong and how wonderful a prince and Zora her little brother becomes, and helps gather the materials Mipha needs to craft the armor for Link. Very wholesome, sisterly bonding time stuff.
Ilia conveniently leaves out the fact that she’s engaged/married to Sidon, until Terrako pulls all the new Champions into the past and Sidon happily declares, “There you are, beloved! I’ve been worried! So this is where you’ve gone?”
And Mipha is like, “Huh?”
Ilia: “Yeahhhh, we’re a thing… the Zora I’m engaged to? It’s him.”
Revali, “YOU GOTTA BE JOKING! YOU? TO THE ZORA PRINCE!?”
Yup. He’s gonna be so shook, lol, because this means he’s been rude to a princess this entire time. Close your beak, Revali, you’re gonna catch flies!
Alsjksksks it’s gonna be so funny. Anyways.
Urbosa and Daruk are both just highly amused and pleasantly surprised by the whole thing. Urbosa probably knew something was up for a while, but didn’t find Ilia a threat so she didn’t force it out of her.
Urbosa is gonna be *top tier momma figure* for Ilia. Ilia and Zelda are already technically cousins, so y’know, might as well share a mom figure too. 🤣
Zelda: “I feel like I know you… like you’re someone I’ve always been meant to meet…”
Ilia, sweating bullets because that’s exactly what her Zelda said when they met the first time: “Y-Yeah, about that…”
Note: I love Revali, but he really is a complete ass, lol. His dlc journal does give some very interesting insight as to why he doesn’t like Link, though, and it’s solely because a) he can’t read Link, nothing he does gets a reaction out of him, and b) it’s strongly hinted that Revali has a crush on Zelda and is jealous of Link.

5. Mipha - Only putting her higher than Sidon bc girlie SHE'S DEAD THAT'S SO SAD 😭 She deserves sm better and like she never got to spend anymore time with her brother 😭 (Mipha's protection was so helpful too like I miss the Champions' abilities sm). I wish she had more of a personality but like she's dead so-

@luxdea || continued from here!!
Tumblr media
The celebrations have been quite nonstop ever since the Zora returned from the grasp of Ruta. For a century, she called her Divine Beast her home, her sanctuary, her prison, her hell-
And now that she has returned, there’s a longing to go back. Is it a longing, or is it that she knew nothing else? Zora lifespans, while rather long in comparison to their Hylian counterparts, did not grant Mipha the benefit of living her life ON THE OUTSIDE OF CALAMITY GANON’S GRASP. Her acquaintance with the beast lasted much longer than her life outside of Ruta. Longer than her childhood, longer than the time spent with her own long-passed mother-
So she has been avoiding the reservoir. Each time it is suggested that the warriors take a gander, Mipha objects to the elder council && her own father. She knew what was there, and it is now long gone. No one needed to be there unless it was her.
She is tethered, and there is nothing she can do.
Overprotectiveness, a large amount of disgust, and a desire to return and never come back. It’s a vicious cycle of rather ambiguous feelings best left in her dreams and journals. No one quite understood what the Zora Champion was speaking about, not from a lack of effort either. Her father tried to soothe her worries, and Sidon promised her to the Heavens, and back she would never return to that place.
And so, she stays within the Halls of the Domain, waiting for word from the castle. Instead, her allies come to her && it is the best gift in the world.
For the first time in a long time, she is able to say that she feels safe.
The Zora quietly slipped away throughout the knight’s recalling of the final battle. As she brushed shoulders with her fellow Zora, she couldn’t help but notice how different his face seemed now, dramatically enhancing the story for the hatchlings. (As if he were reborn anew where the weight of his destiny fell to the wayside.)
She had not been rather discreet in her shadowing of the Hylian Princess; rather, wanting this moment alone to be noticed. When she is finally greeted, her chest tightens. So many questions, so much to say. Even when Zelda allows her the chance, her words are caught in her throat. No, she has to ask this-
“Do you feel it anymore?” she breathes, “Calamity Ganon, is he... can you say for certain he is gone?”

Something I realized while playing age of calamity it kinda confirms this but many don’t talk about it
Sidon is the descendant/sibling to mipha
Teba is a warrior/champion of the future rito
But yunobo and riju are descendants too
Meaning yunobo is daruk’s son and riju is maybe urbosa’s granddaugher
But now this is where I don’t understand and a lot of people wonder too: the TOTK sages
- all the sages are around by the creation of botw/totk’s hyrule beginnings when the zonai are around and when ganondorf of botw/totk was sealed
- meaning there are many years and possible calamities that happened before the one that took place 100 year before Beath of the wild and link’s ‘death’
- why I’m bringing this up as in the events of botw the champions family that survived the calamity lived on like yunobo and sidon were probably born or kids by the time of the calamity and now 100 years later are teens/adults (yunobo is called goron youth so I’m assuming he is a teenager)
- now here is were we have to question the sages they all tell Sidon, yunobo, riju and tulin they are related to them
- but why them you would think the sages offspring and their descendants like the zora royal family, goron chiefs, gerudo chiefs and rito chiefs all would be sages or access to save abilities
-but dorphan, mipha, daruk and urbosa and riju’s mother don’t seem to show sage abilities same for teba tulin’s father
- so why did the sages awaken in Sidon, yunobo, riju and Tulin when they could have for the champions 100 years ago?
Totk takes place 2-3-4 years after botw, heck they could have awaken during the events of botw
So why only now and why skip so many generations that could have used the sage’s powers like the great calamity which need I may add WAS CAUSED BY GANONDORFS SEALING you would think oh if Zelda says the seal will start coming undone resulting in her family to use sealing magic to hold it back before fully unsealing by totk we should give our descendants our magic to aid the hyrule in Zelda’s time royal family keep ganondorf sealed and keep the calamities from happening
But no they just waited many many years and 102-3-4 and show up when ganondorf of botw/totk finally broke free of the seal
See now why this is confusing what are your thoughts
Wait hold up you bring up a good point.
I'm honestly gonna point to the fact that ToTK story-wise felt..........kinda rushed and half-baked. Like it sucks to say because there were some parts of it that I really enjoyed! Zelda's whole arc fucking HURT and a lot of the more subtle shit of seeing how Hyrule's changed in the past 5 years is really good! But then they just.........fumble when it comes to the sages...
It's one of the pitfalls that come with not necessarily "retconning" the past, but adding more to it to try and connect it to the present.
I'm gonna say it's an unfortunate plot hole that resulted from the devs wanting ToTK to feel like a completely separate adventure so people who didn't play BoTW wouldn't miss out while..............still making it a sequel to BoTW. It's times like these that make me scream at Nintendo from the rooftops OTL
Also GOD this is making me think about how much I'm changing ToTK to both make it like...fit better as a story and ALSO fit it with how my current canon is progressing.
It's honestly such a mess that I really plan to have the aftermath of The Upheaval stay the same and then change......SO MUCH MORE.
But that's the fun part of writing :)
